Golf cart prices cover a wide range, and the sticker is only part of the story. Here is what carts actually cost in 2026, what makes one cost more than another, and how to think about new versus used so you spend money where it matters.
These are general market ranges to set expectations. For current Valley View pricing, the inventory page always shows live numbers — and we will give you a straight answer on any cart you ask about.
Typical price ranges
A solid pre-owned cart usually runs somewhere in the few-thousand-dollar range, depending on age, battery health, and condition. A new entry-level cart commonly lands in the high-single-digit to low-double-digit thousands, and fully featured new models with lithium batteries, lift kits, and premium options go up from there.
Custom builds — big lift kits, premium wheels, stereo, lighting, upgraded seats — add up quickly and can push a cart well past a base model. None of that is wrong; it just helps to know what is driving the number.

What drives the price
Battery type and condition is the biggest single factor on electric carts. Lithium costs more up front than lead-acid but lasts longer and weighs less. On a used cart, the age and health of the battery pack matters enormously — a cheap cart that needs a new pack is not actually cheap.
After that: new vs. used, brand and model, number of seats (a four- or six-passenger costs more than a two-seater), and add-ons like lift kits, upgraded wheels and tires, lights, and enclosures. More cart and more features means more money.
Where the value is
For a lot of buyers, the sweet spot is a well-maintained pre-owned cart from a dealer that serviced it, or a sensible new model without every option boxed. You get reliability without paying for extras you will not use.
The hidden value is buying from a shop that services what it sells. A slightly higher price from a real dealer with an in-house shop usually beats a private-sale bargain that strands you when the battery dies. Financing can also spread the cost — we offer 0% APR for 36 months on select carts.
Common questions
How much does a new golf cart cost in 2026?
New golf carts commonly range from the high-single-digit thousands for entry-level models to the mid-teens and up for fully featured carts with lithium batteries, lift kits, and premium options. Seats, battery type, and add-ons drive most of the difference.
How much is a used golf cart?
A good pre-owned cart typically sells in the low-to-mid thousands depending on age, condition, and battery health. The condition of the battery pack is the biggest factor — a cheap cart that needs new batteries can cost more in the end.
Can you finance a golf cart?
Yes. Many dealers, including Valley View, offer financing, and select carts qualify for 0% APR for 36 months, which spreads the cost into a manageable monthly payment.
